At Smallwood we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children in our care.
We expect all staff, volunteers, visitors, Governors, parents, carers and children to share this commitment.
All visitors must sign in at the main school office.
Ensuring children's safety is our key priority at Smallwood and we take your concerns seriously. Should you ever have any concerns about your own or another child's welfare, please contact a member of our safeguarding team.
Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) are Mrs Loudon (Headteacher), Mrs Brophy (Deputy Headteacher), and Mr Patel (Assistant Headteacher), all of whom are all trained DSLs and able to support with any safeguarding concerns you may have. Our team are available for both yourself and the children and we hope that you would come to us with any concerns.
Furthermore, our safeguarding governors for the school are Mr James Daley (Chair of Governors) and Ms Judy Hague (Chair of the Children’s, Families and Communities Committee). They ensure our safeguarding systems place the child at the heart of every decision we make and provide an overarching vision for safeguarding at Smallwood.
Please ensure that your children know who our safeguarding team are and that we are there to help them with any anxieties, concerns or worries.
