Year 1

Year 1 - Sycamore Class

Class Teacher: Charlotte Owen

Welcome to Sycamore Class! We are enthusiastic and passionate learners who love to ask questions to discover new things! We enjoy learning in our classroom and in the outside environment. We take are continuing to be independent learners in Year 1 and are always looking for new strategies to help us. We take of our class and the objects in it, we work together and are friendly and helpful. Our topic is incorporated into all of our learning including Numeracy and Literacy. We enjoy going on trips and learning from visitors welcomed to our classroom.

Things to remember:

We have swimming on Wednesday. Please remember to bring in your P.E kit at the beginning of the week.

Please bring your book bag into school every day so we can put letters, books and children’s work inside. We change reading books on Monday and Thursday. Children work in ‘book bands’ and are given books appropriate to their ability. It is really important that the children are reading these books to you, sounding out words and talking about the story. If you feel the book is not suited to your child, please come and discuss this with us. Please write in your childs' reading record so we know you have read together. This is a great opportunity for you to share reading successes or if you need any support.

Year 1 - Birch Class

Welcome to Birch Class! We are passionate about learning and discovering things about the world around us. We enjoy learning in our classroom and in the outside environment. We are now in Key Stage One and becoming more independent and active learners. We look after our classroom, try our best and work together as a team, Our topic is incorporated into all of our learning including Numeracy and Literacy. We enjoy going on trips and learning from visitors welcomed to our classroom. We love having visitors so if you have an expertise we would love to find out about it.
